Recruitment is broken

Now, it seems to be more about stuffing the right keywords in an application than what candidates can actually do. The only relevant questions should be "Is this person's skillset the best for the job?" and "Are they the best fit our culture?"

1.

Skills-matching, not bias-matching

Unconscious bias has no place in the 21st century. We're stamping it out by championing data-driven hiring. Data doesn't lie or play favorites. It helps employers focus on the content of the person, not the paper, so you and your skills can stand out the way you deserve to.

2.

Knowledge trumps years of experience, every time

Skipped applying for the perfect role because you didn't have the desired years of experience? This metric is outdated and unreliable. Two years' experience in one company can equal five years in another. Knowledge and ability should be what lands you that dream job, nothing else.

3.

Hiring should be like sports

Getting a job shouldn’t be like gambling. It should be like sports. If you’re the best at what you do, you should win. No matter where you come from, what your name is, or what you believe in. Because that's fair.

4.

People deserve instant feedback

Our lives are filled with instant experiences. Applying for jobs shouldn't be any different. Too often, applying for jobs feels like sending your resume into a black hole. That's not fair on you or your time. Wouldn't it be nice to instantly know where you stand, every step of the way?

5.

Skills over resumes, always

We know there are tons of talented people out there who never get a chance to shine. Instead of showcasing your resume writing skills, you should be able to prove your actual on-the-job skills.
