What is Recruitee?

Recruitee is a full-cycle hiring software that has been around since 2015 and is used by companies worldwide. It is well-known for its extensive feature set, ease of use, and powerful automation capabilities.

Toggl Hire is best for…

Companies of all shapes and sizes looking to build out entire recruiting funnels from scratch—specifically those interested in building a top employer brand by offering a standout candidate experience. Toggl Hire is made for companies that want to:

  • Hire based on real-world job knowledge
  • Find a better way than manual resume screening
  • Hire fairly, without involving bias
  • Drastically reduce the time spent on sourcing
  • Use recruitment software that easily scales with their needs
  • Provide a superior candidate experience to all applicants

Toggl Hire performs equally well for small businesses that have never made a single hire as it does for enterprise companies filling dozens of positions every week.

Recruitee is best for…

Medium-to-large companies that have high-volume recruitment needs. Although it is usually too expensive for new or small companies, it’s a solid choice for businesses that:

  • Have an internal HR team and hire frequently
  • Can afford to pay for a pricey annual plan upfront
  • Need features that support collaboration within a large HR team
  • Value user experience and easy employee onboarding
  • Need customizable talent pipelines that can adapt to individual needs
  • Want advanced automation and removal of repetitive tasks from everyday HR work
  • Need detailed analytics and reporting

Overall, based on our internal usage and research, Recruitee solves many problems for bigger businesses. However, it struggles to cope with the demands of the little guy.

Reviews on platforms such as G2 show that although there is lots to love about Recruitee, it’s still plagued by issues such as missing features, underdeveloped skills tests, and subpar candidate and data management.

You deserve more from your recruitment software

Anyone can try Toggl Hire for free, and your data is yours to keep. Pricing plans are flexible and based on your hiring needs rather than the size of your team.

Toggl Hire is just as easy to use and has a UX that both your HR team and candidates will love. Candidates value the feedback system while hiring managers love the ease of setting up personalized yet automated messages every step of the way.

Easily monitor your talent pipeline from a single dashboard and collaborate with your teammates online in real-time. Think Recruitee, but more candidate-oriented and without the price shock.

Toggl Hire vs. Recruitee pricing

Taking into account their different customers, the two tools have very different pricing plans. Let’s take a look at each one to help you decide where your money would be best spent.

Toggl Hire pricing

Toggl Hire has a free plan and three paid plans.

The free plan allows you to work with up to five candidates, with unlimited jobs, tests, and users. Best for testing the waters to explore all of the features—like candidate screening, skills test library, bulk invitations, and instant candidate feedback—before making a decision.

The Basic plan is $20 monthly, billed annually. It unlocks 20 candidates and all the features in the Free plan. You also get access to the candidate database, allowing you to build your own talent pool. Last but not least, the plan includes detailed reports and analytics, helping you track your hiring progress.

The Premium plan has tiered pricing, depending on the number of candidates you work with. For 45 candidates, it’s $75 per month. For 60, it’s $100 monthly, while 300 candidates will cost you $375/month.

Premium has all the features of the Basic plan, plus some extras. For example, it offers anti-cheating tracking and AI features, access to a premium library with advanced questions, automation and integrations (and API access), email login for candidates, and CSV and PDF file exports.

Last but not least, the Business plan costs $469 monthly for unlimited candidates, with access to your own email template library, the ability to own the candidate experience (with custom URLs and more), and bulk actions for candidate management. For companies with larger hiring needs, it’s a steal.

Recruitee pricing

Instead of a free plan, Recruitee offers an 18-day free trial. Although you can test out most of their features during this time, all of your data and applicants’ data is lost when the trial expires.

In terms of pricing, the monthly fee is based on the number of employees in your team rather than the number of candidates in your pipeline. Based on this, they offer three different plans:

  • Start ($199/month for 1-20 employees)
  • Grow ($249/month for 1-20 employees)
  • Optimize (custom pricing)

The Start plan has a minimum starting price of $199, giving access to 5 job slots and unlimited users/candidates. The pricing is annual, which means you should pay $2,388 in advance and be confident you’ll need to fill at least 5 roles at a time for up to a year in advance.

This plan comes with multi-job posting (across different platforms and job boards), CareersHub (a Careers page on your website), resume parse and search, pipeline templates and automation, automated emails, talent pools, standard reporting and analytics, and unlimited data storage.

The Grow plan begins at a minimum monthly cost of $249. The difference between this and Start is that you get multiple CareersHub pages, ReferralsHub (for employee referral programs), an event scheduler, questionnaires (for talent assessment), knockout questions (to eliminate candidates with the wrong answers), and multiple locations and languages.

Optimize has all the features from Grow, as well as a few add-ons, such as onboarding support, a dedicated customer support manager, requisition approvals, fair evaluations (to hide candidate info from other team members), as well as SSO and API support. For pricing, you need to contact their sales team.

The verdict: What makes Toggl Hire the best Recruitee alternative to manage full-cycle hiring

Recruitee is a great choice for recruitment software, but at the same time, it has a few issues that may bother your HR team. To sum up, we see three reasons why Toggl Hire might be a better alternative to Recruitee.

Real skills tests

Recruitee’s list of skills tests is very limited and feels like an afterthought compared to the rest of their toolset. In comparison, Toggl Hire has a huge library of sample tests and questions to choose from created by subject-matter experts. You can test for both soft and hard skills and create fully customized tests just for the role you’re hiring for.

Improved candidate experience

With Toggl Hire, you’re able to custom-build your hiring pipeline to allow candidates to start their journey with a test. With skills assessments at (or towards) the beginning of the process, you’re able to automatically assess and filter candidates.

Plus, they get immediate feedback about their results and quickly learn where they stand in the hiring process. This saves hiring managers a lot of time while creating a more positive candidate experience.

Unbiased, fair hiring

A vetted team of subject-matter experts in their fields created the questions in our sample tests. Combined with the fact that you don’t know who the candidates are until you see their results, this gives you the most objective hiring possible. Make hiring decisions based on real data, not gut feeling.
