Does Toggl use AI?

Yes, Toggl offers an in-app AI chat assistant. It provides plain-language answers to questions about your time data in seconds. It can also run tasks for you, explain how features work, and help you set them up. Toggl AI can never be used to monitor employees in any way or log time without explicit permission.

What is Toggl AI? What can it do?

Toggl AI is a chat assistant built into the Toggl web app. It answers plain-language questions about your workspace's time data and shows the numbers behind each answer. It can also log time, create projects, tasks and tags, configure settings, and perform other tasks for you.

Is Toggl AI private?

Toggl AI follows our long-standing anti-surveillance statement. It answers from the time your team logs and helps teams plan, report and bill. It's never a way to monitor people. Everything it does runs with each user's own permissions, so it can only see the data and take the actions that person's role allows.

Are Toggl AI’s answers reliable?

Toggl AI calculates its answers from your workspace's reporting data and asks for clarification when a question could mean more than one thing. It doesn’t guess or pull answers out of thin air when it’s not sure. For business-critical numbers, you can always cross-check any answer in Reports in a couple of clicks.

Can I turn off Toggl AI?

Yes. While AI features are on by default, an admin can turn them off for the whole organization: go to Admin settings, open Organization security and compliance, and switch off the AI Features toggle. The setting is enforced on Toggl's servers.

Can I use Toggl with other AI assistants, like Claude or Codex?

Yes, the Toggl MCP server lets you connect any MCP-compatible assistant to your Toggl data. Sign in once with your Toggl account and your assistant can read and update tasks, projects, time entries, time blocks and reports. Access follows your Toggl plan and role, with no separate request cap.
